Manhattan drain problems we see most
Shared kitchen stacks in co-ops and condos
Prewar and postwar apartment buildings run a column of kitchens into one stack. Years of grease from every unit narrows the pipe, and the backup lands in the lowest apartment on the line. The fix is stack jetting, coordinated with management. See co-op and condo buildings.
Walk-ups and tenements
Older walk-ups in Harlem, the East Village, the Lower East Side and Hell’s Kitchen often have original cast iron mains with long horizontal runs to the street. Scale on the pipe wall grabs paper and wipes. A camera check tells us whether to cable or jet.
Townhouses and brownstones
Townhouses on the Upper East and West Sides, in the Village and in Harlem usually have a house trap near the front wall. When it clogs, the cellar floor drain takes the backup first.
Restaurants and storefronts
Manhattan’s restaurant density means grease lines and floor drains back up during service. We jet restaurant grease lines after close and come 24/7 for emergencies.

Common questions
Can you work with my building's super and management?
Yes. We coordinate access, freight elevator times and building rules with the super or managing agent before the technician arrives.
My neighbor's sink backs up into mine. Whose problem is it?
That usually means the shared kitchen stack is clogged below your floor. Stacks belong to the building in most co-ops and rentals, so report it to the super. We work with management to clear it.
Do you clear restaurant lines in Manhattan?
Yes, including after close so service isn't interrupted, and 24/7 for emergencies.
How much does drain cleaning cost in Manhattan?
The same starting prices as everywhere we work: starting at $325 for a single drain, $595 for a main line with camera, $1,200 for commercial or building jetting, and $150 more after hours.
Do you service townhouses with house traps?
Yes. Many Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Village and Harlem townhouses still have their original house trap, and it's one of the most common clog points we clear.
What about parking? Do you charge for it?
Our starting prices are the same across the city. Tell us when you call if the building has loading or service-entrance rules so the technician plans for them.
Need a drain cleared?
Calls are answered 24 hours a day. A technician looks at the job and confirms your price on site before any work starts.
